Canon EOS M3 Specs Leaked

Tomorrow is the big day of announcements for Canon, and of course someone at Canon is letting a trickle of information flow out ahead of the press conference.  Here are the latest rumored specs on the EOS M3:

Sony Sensors in Canon's 5DS?

So last week a rumor began circling the net that the new Canon 5DS's 50 megapixel camera would have a Sony sensor.  This is not a new rumor, every few months it seems speculation swirls about Canon using Sony technology.  But it appears this rumor is only half true.

According to CanonPriceWatch.com:

"[…] the sensor is not designed by Sony – it is in fact designed entirely by Canon. It is true that Sony is manufacturing the sensors but they are not the ones who designed it, Canon is simply leveraging the manufacturing capabilities of Sony to get the volume of sensors needed to get these cameras to the market. The sensors used in these cameras are exclusive to Canon […]"

At least we do not have to wait long to find out, Canon is expected to announce the new 5DS and 5DS R camera bodies tomorrow.

Sony Releases Picture of New FE Lenses

Sony Japan just released a picture of their new FE Lenses they are expected to announce at CP+ next week.  All of the information listed is in Japanese so sorry I do not have more information to give you, but I am a little rusty on my foreign language skills.

It appears at this time Sony has no plans to announce any new camera bodies.  The rumor is Sony will make some more announcements a few weeks after CP+ that will deal specifically with the release of a new camera.

Canon 5D Mark IV

With the upcoming release of the 5DS and 5DS R it has left a lot of people wondering what happened to the rumors about the 5D Mark IV.  Given that the 5DS series has a maximum ISO of 6400 and a super high 50 megapixel resolution, it is not designed for shooting sports like the 5D Mark III and 1DX that are running on three year old technology.

Well according to CanonRumors.com don't give up on the 5D Mark IV just yet.  Canon is expected to announce the camera body later this year.  And yes the camera will have improved low light capabilities and a slightly higher megapixel count than the current 5D Mark iii.  The camera should be a great all around camera like the 5D Mark iii and will be an upgrade for those of us who like to shoot sports.

Rumors have been circling for weeks about upcoming announcements from Canon.  As it stands Canon is expected to announce several new products February 6, 2015.  Canon is supposed to announce three new DSLR's, the EOS 5DS, 5DS R and the Rebel 750D/TT6i.  A mirrorless camera, the EOS M3 is also expected.  A new lens, the EF 11-24 f/4L USM should also be announced along with some new Powershot cameras.

Nikon to Release New Version of D810

Nikon is expected to announce a new version of the popular D810 in the next few days.  The camera is designed for Astro Photographers and will allow a 5X longer shutter speed than the standard D810.  No word on the exact name of the new camera body but it is expect to be D810x.  We also have not found any reliable information relating to the expected price.  But we will keep you posted.
