1DX Selling for $4199

The Canon 1DX has recently been listed on Ebay for $4199 according to CanonPriceWatch.com.  The last time we saw a big price drop on the grey market imports Canon USA issued a grey market warning and began offering an $800 rebate on the 1DX to bring it's pricing more in line with what was being offered on the grey market.
Canon is no longer offering the rebate, but they have now permanently set the price at $5999, significantly lower than its 2014 price.
According to Canon Price Watch they have seen a significant surge in interest since the announcement of the 5DS and 5DR S in the Canon 5D Mark iii and 6D.  I think a lot of photographers who wanted to jump into a full frame camera, but waited for the latest and greatest Canon had to offer.  Now that the announcement is official, I think some photographers realize the new 50 megapixel camera is not what they need.  The 5DS is not a sports camera, although I am sure you can get some great sports pictures with it.  Other camera's are more suited for sports, and they will cost you less.
The 5D Mark iii is listed for just $2149 (grey market) according to CanonPriceWatch.  You can use this link CanonPriceWatch for more information about these grey market retailers.
I would speculate Canon will officially drop the price of the 5D Mark iii sometime in the next few months to clear out stock for the 5D Mark IV that is set to be announced later this year.
