Canon made several announcements yesterday about new products, and not be outdone rumors began surfaces at the same time about the Nikon D5. Nikon has released a lot more camera's than Canon as of late, but many of them were only minor upgrades of other cameras. Outside of the extra focus points this does not sound like it will be a major upgrade for Nikon's flagship camera, but it will be an improvement.

- New 20MP FX sensor
- 173 autofocus points
- Same processor as the D4s
- Body design similar to the D4s
- Currently scheduled to be announced in the second half of 2015
With the D5 Nikon is also rumored to announce a new 24-70mm f/2.8 (PF?) VR lens.
Not a rumor, but the Nikon D5500 also began shipping worldwide yesterday.
